Wall St. Journal Wins 2016 NYMSL Championship

For the second year in a row and a record sixth time overall, Wall Street Journal is the NYMSL champions. In the league playoffs held Sept. 10 in New York's Central Park, WSJ prevailed in one-run affairs, taking the title in a 8-7 come-from-behind victory over Chartbeat.

In the semifinals, WSJ outlasted New York Public Radio, 5-4, with a walk-off hit on the 9th. In the other semifinal, Chartbeat handled Forbes, 8-2.

While WSJ has appeared in eight final games, it was Chartbeat's first. Chartbeat took a 7-2 lead into the sixth inning, but WSJ scored two in the sixth and four more in the bottom of the seventh to notch their sixth NYMSL title. WSJ also came from behind to defeat NYPR in last year's title match.
